The Distribution UPDATE: COVID-19 Relief Action
We are very pleased to share the much awaited update about the distribution of the packs conceptualised over the past few months for the COVID-19 relief action.
110 Packs containing 2 masks, a bar of soap, two flagons of hand sanitiser and an information sheet, have in fact, over the past few days, been distributed in a network of three communities. The latter being patients (and the hereof families) of the Beit Cure Hospital of Lusaka, an international organisation that performs orthopedic surgery free of charge for children. The Special Hope Network which works on training families, caregivers, educators, and community leaders on how to provide quality care and inclusion to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. And lastly the Zambian Association for Children with Disabilities - which provides free mobility aids for children with disability - without whom we would not have been able to set the COVID-19 relief action in place and have been crucial in the whole process.
Here below, is a collection of pictures of the distribution process within the 3 networks of communities. The pictures have kindly been taken by Chaango Mungalu, Photographer at the Beit Cure Hospital in Lusaka.
At last we would like to thank all those involved: the amazing team at the Zambian Association for children with disabilities making the masks and preparing the packs, the Beit Cure Hospital of Lusaka and all those who have supported the project through a donation.

Aggiornamento sulla distribuzione: Azione di sostegno COVID-19
Siamo molto felici di annunciarvi un aggiornamento riguardante la distribuzione delle confezioni preparate nell’ultimo mese per l’azione di sostegno COVID-19.
110 Pacchi contenenti 2 mascherine chirurgiche, sapone, due flaconi di disinfettante ed un foglio informativo, sono stati distribuiti nei giorni passati nelle comunità di tre organizzazioni. Si trattano del Beit Cure Hospital di Lusaka e dei suoi pazienti (e la loro famiglia), un'organizzazione internazionale che esegue chirurgia ortopedica senza coso per bambini in bisogno. Il Special Hope Network che lavora assieme a famiglie, badanti, educatori e leader nelle comunità, per provvedere inclusione ed accesso a cure ai bambini con disabilità intellettuali e di sviluppo. Ed infine la Zambian Association for Children with Disabilities (ZACD), che provvede bambini disabili con ausili per la mobilità senza costo. Il fantastico team del ZACD è stato essenziale durante tutto il corso di questo progetto, senza di loro non saremmo riusciti a mettere in piedi l’azione di sostegno COVID-19.
