The trip to Zambia had the aim to visit all the children at Kasisi to update and adjust the therapy program with the children.
We were invited to visit two orphanages in the north of Zambia, with the aim to instruct their local collaborators on how to assemble and fit wheelchairs. Unfortunately, this visit did not put up with our expectations, and little was achieved.

Distributed Wheelchairs
The third trip to Zambia was essential in the development of the association. This time 100 Kg of multivitamins and new materials for the physiotherapy for Kasisi Children's Home were transported from Switzerland to Zambia.
Two of the kids first visited in 2015, who couldn’t walk, were now happily running around and playing together with the rest of the children at Kasisi.
We came across a wheelchair from “Wheelchairs for Kids” and after some research we decided to get in touch with the Australian organisation.
The children with Cerebral Palsy at Kasisi got donated a wheelchair from Wheelchairs for kids as well as a child, living in the neighbourhood of Kasisi. Which is now able to attend school and the mother is able to take on work. This opened our eyes regarding the big impact a single wheelchair can have on a child and a family’s well being.
Marks the second trip to Zambia and a total of 200 Kg of clothes transported and donated to Kasisi Children’s Home.
Further, a sports field was created and sponsored, to allow children to play soccer and other games in a safe environment.
Thanks to the continuity of the Mommy’s work during Marco’s absence, some of the children made a clear progress. The therapy program was updated and adjusted to the child's new needs.
This year marks the start of the journey that later became Blu Spring with Marco Kerkhof’s (founder and president of Blu Spring) first trip to Zambia. The aim was to develop and set up a physiotherapy room at Kasisi Children’s Home.
After the room was set up: a therapy plan was elaborated for the kids in need of physiotherapy. Additionally, the mommy’s in charge of the kids daily care, were taught how to perform the the therapy sequence to allow the practice to continue in Marco’s absence.
